SCOTT'S 1969 MACH 1 PAGE

Welcome to my Mach 1 page! I have always had a passion for fast & cool cars since I was little. I think I have seen "American Graffiti" about 50 times and NEVER get tired of it! I've had a lot of cars over the years. Some were fast, some were not. I've always wanted to own a nice car, that was reasonably fast and powerful (at least in a straight line, lol), that had "the lines", that I could take to shows and cruise-in's, and just have fun in. Nothing speaks of power like a big-block engine in a small to mid-size car. You open the hood and you see nothing but engine.  And so were born the 1960's "muscle cars". They have captured peoples imaginations since their inception. I remember seeing the cars on the streets and at the car dealers when I was just little. Mustangs, Camaros, Novas, etc. roamed the streets of our town in the late 60's and early 70's.

This car is finally the completion of a journey that started before I could even drive, a 1969 Ford Mustang 390 Mach 1. I bought this car from California and had it transported here to Ohio in 2003. I have been working on the car off-and-on for the last two years. The car was totally stripped down to the bare frame and rebuilt from the ground up with new suspension and NOS parts when available. It is now nearing the end of it's restoration. In 2005 I had all the upholstery redone and installed the stereo. I also put custom wheels on the car in 2005. Is this the last car I will every build? Probably not. It is however the nicest to date. It's a car that gets attention where ever I go with it. I love to drive it, mash the pedal every once in a while, and just get out and enjoy life and the car. I try to hit at least one show or cruise-in a weekend during the spring, summer, and fall. I drive the car every chance I get when it is nice out (I don't drive it to work though).

This car is one of the more rare Mustangs from 1969 and from early Mustang production as a whole. 1969 was the last year for the 390 in the Mustang. 390 Mustangs account for only about five percent of total Mustang production in 1969, not many survive. I will add other photos to this page from time to time. Here is a list of original equipment that came on the car and what has been done to the car by myself:
